  NO HOOF = NO HORSE!

No other statement could be more true. Preventing hoof disease and health problems should be the goal of every horseowner. This online course will help you do just that. If the horse's hooves are not healthy the horse is not healthy and visa versa. Many important topics are covered to help you maintain optimal hoof health by recognizing a healthy, well functioning hoof and being able to prevent hoof diseases. You will be introduced to many of the common problems faced by horses, many due to management and hoof maintenance problems, and you will learn the steps to take so that you can reduce the risk for your horses. These online courses from PENZANCE Equine Solutions are based on years of studies of numerous hoofcare masters and practical experience. From Pete Ramey, Jaime Jackson, Lyle Bergeleen, Gene Ovnicek, and others, the materials in these courses combine the educational teachings from all and formulate the best of the best in terms of the natural equine hoof.

The NHC100 course is designed as an introductory course or a refresher course for new or returning horse owners, managers, trainers and enthusiasts. The information entailed in this course is material that EVERYONE who is involved with horses in any manner should have.  (6 weeks)

The NHC101 course is a more intensive course for the serious owner, trainer, vet, farrier, manager who either wants to pursue a career in hoofcare or those who wish to take control of their horse's hooves and trimming on their own. Many horseowners live in remote areas that make farrier visits difficult and many have trouble finding farriers who will commit to traveling to these remote areas. Many owners have just one or two "backyard" horses that makes finding farrier/hoofcare difficult, at best. This course emerges the student into the very intricacies of the anatomy and physiology of the equine hoof  and lower leg 'inside-out'. The student who completes this course will have an in-depth understanding of preventative hoof care, a strong knowledge of the maintainance care needed for optimal functioning and health of the hooves and how to care for the horse in such a way that will promote ultimate hoof health.  (10 weeks)
